2013 #AtoZChallenge: #Firefighter #Paramedic #Safety

All of my posts for the A-to-Z Challenge will be posted here. The idea is to blog one letter each day Monday - Saturday ("Time off for good behavior on Sunday"). Make sure to check back as I will (should) be posting each day. A brief explanation to the A-to-Z Challenge can be found at A-to-Z Intro

2013 - My posts for this A-to-Z Challenge look at the safety of firefighters & paramedics
This year (2013) I am doing it "un-offcially" as I missed the sign in deadline. Hoping to make it (assuming I can remember that far in advance) officially next year (2014).

As I mentioned, earlier, I jumped on-board this challenge a bit late and didn't really have any theme/ideas in mind as to what to write (just knew that it looked like fun and I wanted to join).

One of my biggest areas of interest is that of fire and EMS Systems (and if you know what EMS stands for you'll realize that I just did a double speak). I won't go into details on my interest as I go to into in (somewhat) in Firefighters Are My Heroes (this is on WordPress), though it really doesn't aptly explain the depth of my interest & I'm afraid that I come across sounding like some nut job.

Anyway, the idea of doing the challenge based on Firefighter Safety popped into my mind when the idea of Aware (or Awareness) popped into my mind for letter A.  Awareness (Situational Awareness) is one of the biggest key factors for Firefighter Safety. (PS: I've already decided that next year I'll be looking at the history of Paramedicine).
